Its surface is almost entirely encrusted with paste jewels, starting with the paste-headed pin-shank, moving outward to alternating sapphire & amethyst paste jewels of slightly trapezoidal form separated by two sizes of diamond paste mirrors, which are echoed by the scalloped border's inset pastes. 18th C.
